What is a cubic metre?
A cubic metre is measured by the depth x width x length. Our general rule of thumb is a level box trailer is approximately 3/4 of a cubic metre. Visualise your pile of waste and take 3 measurements, length multiplied by the width multiplied by the depth. That should give you an approximate size. You can also go to our bin sizes page to get estimated dimensions. on our Tiny Tins skip bins.
How do I know what size skip bin I will need?
Please refer to the Skip Bin Sizes page or call Tiny Tins directly (02) 4272 4848 for an estimation of the skip bins dimensions.
What is the average skip bin size used for a basic household clean up?
3 cubic metre mini skip.
What type of waste/rubbish can I put into the skip bin?
Please refer to the page our skip bins for further information on what waste types would suit your rubbish removal needs.
What happens if someone else fills my bin?
Unfortunately you are responsible for the skip bin from delivery to collection, we suggest you place the bin within your property and consider placing a tarp over it when not in use, we also recommend that you book the skip bin for the days you intend on using it.
To what level can I fill my skip bin?
All Tiny Tins skip bins must NOT be filled higher than the rim as they then become unsafe to transport. Tiny Tins could refuse to take your skip bin until the overload waste is removed. You can order another skip bin for hire should you require it.
Can I get a specific time on the day of my delivery or collection?
Unfortunately no, due to scheduling of each individual job & unforeseen traffic conditions it is impossible for Tiny Tins to give a specific time. However, upon your order you are able to request a time frame for delivery or collection and we will endeavour to meet your required times. We also recommend that you phone us on the morning of the delivery as we may be able to give you a better estimated time for your skip delivery.
How long can I have the bin for?
Our skip bins are for 7 days hire. Should you need the skip bin for a longer hire period a rate of $10 per day applies. Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you wish to keep the skip bin for longer then 7 days.
Can I have the skip bin collected earlier then date specified?
Yes you can by contacting us at least 24 hours before the required date of collection.
How do we know if we require a permit to place the bin on our nature strip?
We suggest you call your local council and inquire with them.
Can we have the skip bin delivered onto the nature strip?
In most cases you can have the bin delivered onto the nature strip, however, the skip bin cannot block pedestrian access, or utility pits. Some council’s will require a permit which you will need to arrange prior to the skip bin being delivered. On the day of delivery/collection, access is required from 6.00am. It might be an idea to chat with your neighbours prior to the skip bin being delivered/collected and ask them to leave room for the truck if required? If access is not possible we may need to charge you a call out fee to cover costs for the driver to return at another time.
Can we request to have the bin delivered onto the road?
Should you wish to place the bin on the road it will be necessary for you, the property owner to make an application for a permit with the local council where the skip bin is to be delivered to.
